Tungle.me Best Practices

As more and more people start Tungling, and we get more and more feedback, some great ideas have been coming in from the community about how best to use Tungle.me.

While there are no concrete rules to Tungle, we have noticed – from Tunglers and from our own use – a few best practices that help make the most of your Tungle.me experience.

Here are a few top best practice tips for Tungling:

Asking for time

If someone’s asking for your time, send your Tungle.me link. Once you’ve passed it along, your job is almost done. All you have to do is pick the final time once the request comes in. For the other person, it’s a few clicks and no sign up to request a meeting.

If you’re requesting someone else’s time, it’s proper Tungle.me etiquette to send them a private invitation rather than your public link. A private invitation proposes several times, and lets the other person simply pick one to book it.

Keeping the thread

In the middle of an email thread? It breaks the thread to send a meeting invitation through Tungle.me. Instead, have Tungle.me create a private link and paste it in an email as part of the thread.

Here’s how: At the final step of creating a meeting invitation, select the option to have Tungle.me create a link. Copy and paste it into the body of your email.

Teaming up

Meet regularly with the same team? Create a group in Tungle.me. When you click the group, you’ll be able to see everyone’s schedules overlaid, making it even easier to select times to propose.

You can even add non-Tunglers to the group. You won’t see their schedules, but they’ll receive the group meeting invitations, and be able to reply without signing up.

Tip: Want others to meet with your team? When you create a group, Tungle.me gives you a custom URL. The link goes to a page where others can see your team’s availability and request meetings without signing up.  You can also create ‘on the fly’ group URLs by separating Tungle.me usernames, or email addresses with a comma – for example, http://tungle.me/erin,marc,jonathanlevitt

Signing off

Your email signature is the perfect opportunity to share your Tungle.me URL. Simply add it as part of your contact information, or include a short description – for example, “Want to meet? http://tungle.me/yourname”. Every time you send an email, you’re also sending a quick and easy way for the other person to book time with you.

Tip: Tungle.me has partnered with WiseStamp so you can easily add Tungle.me to your social signature.
