Help Us Help You!

Do you know someone who has never (gasp!) seen Tungle? Do they have 30 minutes?

Please send them to us: erin[at]tungle.com

What’s it for?

We’re conducting usability sessions to help improve your profile page.

The goal is to gather feedback that will help us make your profile as simple as possible for your visitors.

The best way to understand what needs improving is to see someone visit a profile page for the first time.

Which is where your non-Tungling friends come in.

What do they need to do?

We’ll book 30 minutes of time with them. Sessions are online, so they don’t need to go anywhere (but if they’re in the Montreal area, we’d love to have them come in).

The session consists of navigating through specific parts of Tungle and telling us what they like and don’t like – what makes sense and what doesn’t.

How do I send people to you?

Simply ask them to email Erin at erin[at]tungle.com.

  1. Daisy Wright says:

As a trial, I sent a meeting invitation with two separate meeting times to my other email address. As the recipient, and acting as the invitee, I wanted to select a different time, but as much as I am trying to ‘click and drag’, nothing is happening.

    Would appreciate your help.

    Thanks.

    • Erin says:

      Hi Daisy,

I’m not sure what you mean by selecting a different time. Here’s how it works when there is one meeting invitee:

      1. The organizer sends out an invitation proposing multiple times
      2. The invitee receives it by email and sees all the available times
      3. The invitee selects only one time to book the meeting

Does this make sense for what you’re trying to do? If not, please feel free to send an email to support[at]tungle.com. Include the title of the meeting invitation in question and the Support team will look into it asap.

      Best,

      Erin

  2. Erin!
I am not a member (YET!) but I have some questions, as I am (and have been for quite a bit of time) looking for a Calender. Specifically, a calender that people can see available DATES and TIME FRAMES (10-30 days) available for the type of trips we have available.

Our business is such that we have time frames of 5, 7, 10, 14, 21 and 30 day …trips available and can accommodate a total of 40-45 (easily) people at a time.

Is this a good match for what I am looking for?

I don’t think guests or clients should be booking time-frames on the calender, but looking at an actual calender, I believe, really helps with the perspective…

Nothing I have tried really works. Can you give me any input or ideas with this? I appreciate your time. (And Tungle looks like a really great…thing!)

    Take care.
    ~Amber-Lee

    • Erin says:

      Hi Amber-Lee,

I wish we could help you, but I don’t think Tungle will suit your needs. Tungle was designed to help arrange business meetings, so it focuses on time frames from 15 minutes to several hours rather than several days. Also, it’s open for guests to book time with you and there’s no way to turn off that functionality.

Have you considered a simple Google Calendar? I believe you can publish it publicly for your guests to view, and they won’t be able to book time through it – it would just be for viewing. I hope that helps!

      Best,

      Erin

  3. R. Titus says:

Hello – two issues. Though I’ve set the advance booking requirement to 12 hours (and just adjusted to 6 hours) and my calendar on Google Apps is EMPTY this week strangely tungle says I’m not available – or more specifically that I have no availability? strange I’ve loads of avails

2nd issue is that Google apps and tungle don’t appear to be syncing. I have a standing 8am item to take my kids to school every day. however, I’ve deleted it this and next week as they arent in school. yet it still shows in Tungle.

    Thoughts?

    • Erin says:

Regarding the event that you deleted, this is actually a bug we have right now. Our apologies for that.

Regarding the no availability, is it possible you have any all-day events in your Google Calendar that are blocking out your availability? If so, simply open the event(s) and change the status from busy to available. You’ll find that setting under the reminders setting in Google. If this isn’t the problem, please send an email to support[at]tungle.com and include the email address you use with Tungle. The team will look into it asap.

  4. Kari says:

I am needing to schedule meetings with internal people and external people. I am the middle person so finding a common time for the two is the hard part. I have found that tungle would work perfectly EXCEPT that the invitation I send to the two participants shows their email addresses. I do not need to be giving my external party’s the email address of our management. Is there any way I can hide the email address so that they are not visible to anyone but myself?

    • Erin says:

Hi Kari – Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to hide email addresses from other participants at this time. No addresses will be shared publicly, of course, but email addresses will always be visible to all meeting participants, the same way they’re visible in an Outlook or Gmail (for example) event. Something we’ll consider for the future though.

  7. Rodi Boritzer says:

    Hi,

I have already prepared the profile but I have not received any mail so far, how I can make reservation with the person I want ?

    • Erin says:

Hi Rodi – I’m not sure what you mean. Have you created a meeting request through someone else’s profile, or did you create your own profile? Either way, send an email to support[at]tungle.com and we can get the confirmation email issue sorted out for you.

  8. Jessica says:

Hey Erin! We are using tungle to set up interviews with a number of people. Is there a way to “hide” everyone else’s name/email address except for their own? In other words, we can’t have 30 people all scrolling, seeing each other’s email address, and then picking a time slot.
    Thanks!

    • Erin says:

Hi Jessica – At this time, it isn’t possible to hide other people from the invitation. However, it sounds like what you’re trying to do is set up individual meetings for each of the 30 people. Is that correct? If so, sending one invitation to all 30 will actually be arranging one meeting where all invitees meet at the same time. To schedule individual meetings, you’d have to send an invitation to each person, or send them to your public profile so that they can submit their own meeting request. In both of these 2 scenarios, people will not be able to see other people’s names or email addresses. Hope that helps!

  9. Michael Wells says:

Erin the instructions for confirming my appointment asks me to confirm my emal address by click the link. There is no link. I am triying to confirm for tungle.me/bekkahclifford. Please let me know what to do?

Hi Tameeka – Are you getting an error message or something when you try to confirm? Please send an email to support[at]tungle.com – we’ll get it sorted for you asap.

I am not getting a confirmation email regarding the appointment I am trying to set up. Would you please let me know what I need to do?

    Thank you

    • Erin says:

Hi David – Do you mean the email to confirm your email address? Might be stuck in a junk folder or something. Shoot an email to support[at]tungle.com and we’ll get that fixed up for you. Please include the profile URL you are scheduling through and the subject of the meeting so we can find it asap.

  11. Natalie says:

I am not getting a confirmation email, how can I get the request to go through? I see lots of posts about “check your email, the confirmation link is sent to your email.” But I have not received an email (yes, I have also checked my junk email-EMPTY- AND my email address – CORRECT- )

    • Erin says:

Hi Natalie – Would you shoot an email over to support[at]tungle.com and include the email address you registered with? We’ll get that fixed up for you asap.

  15. Grace Becker says:

    Erin,
I downloaded the plugin for my website, however, the icon shows up as a little blue box that when you hover over it the calendar opens. How do I get the actual icon to appear. Thanks Grace

    • Erin says:

      Hi Grace,

Sounds like there’s a typo in the plugin. Is this the wordpress plugin you’re using? Would you send me the webpage where I can view the widget? erin[at]tungle.com if you prefer not to post here.

      Best,

      Erin

  16. karen galloway says:

I am trying to confirm my emailaddress by clicking on link but no response. Why do we need to confirm when you sent an email and we are responded to your email. Receiving an email is confirmation that the email is correct. Now I am filling out form and don’t know where next to go.

    • Erin says:

      Hi Karen,

We can only verify that you received the email if you click the link in the email.

What do you mean by no response? What happens when you click the link? Does it open a web page at all, or is it simply not doing anything? Have you tried copying and pasting the link into your address bar? Your email settings may be disabling the link. Is this the confirmation email for sending a meeting request, or did you recently create a Tungle account? Let me know.

Also, what form are you filling out (what questions is it asking)? Please email me at erin[at]tungle.com with as much information as possible and we will look into it.

      Best,

      Erin

Is there a way to dit one’s name? (for example de to change in last name or a spelling error?)

    Thanks

    • Erin says:

      Hi Said,

Do you mean your name in your account? If so, yes. Simply mouse over your name at the top-right and select “Settings”. The name fields will be at the top of the Settings page. Make your changes, save and you’ll be all set.

  21. Louis says:

    Hi Erin,

Super disappointed with the Tungle. I was excited there was going to be a native calendar for my playbook. l was also excited you guys were fellow Montrealers. I spent all day with the calendar and came out frustrated. When will RIM make it useful. Not being snarky but frustrated. l also don’t see how the business community would adopt this tool as our info is open to Tungle. Prefer it being a desktop tool that Tungle would not have access to. I already feel uncomfortable linking my calendar to Tungle. Anyway, will give it a shot for few more days before deleting my account.

    • Erin says:

      Hi Louis,

The current version of the Tungle.me app for PlayBook is a first iteration. There’s much more to come as we settle in with RIM. I hope the next developments will be up to your expectations.

Regarding your calendar concerns, we take your privacy very seriously. I invite you to check out our privacy policy here:

      Erin

      • Louis says:

        Hi Erin,

l think the issue with web based platforms for calendars is that a lot of companies convey sensitive information when scheduling meetings. These are usually part of my calendar information. Though others can’t see this info when they are looking at my calendar. All it requires is a password to access it. Since Tungle requires an e-mail for log in. Part of the log in info is already available as this I believe can be easily obtained for most industry employees.

  22. Geon Hui Cho says:

I made a free phone consultation 11 :00 pm on saturday. Is it one the list correctly?

    • Erin says:

Hi Geon – Not sure what you mean. Did you schedule something through Tungle? If you’re having trouble with a meeting, please email support[at]tungle.com and we’ll look into it.

  23. Adele Michal says:

Since there is no way to cancel my account myself, who do I email to get this going? Tungle just isn’t meeting my needs.

    • Erin says:

      Hi Adele,

Simply email support[at]tungle.com and include the email address you use with Tungle. We’ll get it done asap.

      Best,

      Erin

  24. Adele says:

How far in advance will Tungle allow someone to book an appt with me? Is there a setting somewhere that I can manually change?

    • Erin says:

      Hi Adele,

Currently, there’s no cap on how far in the future people can book. We’re looking into allowing you to cap that further down the road.

      Best,

  25. Sandra says:

    Erin,
I am having some problems with tungle. When I update my calendar on outlook and my BB the updates are sent to tungle but they do not update my calendars. If I’m out and put a meeting into my calendar on my BB it will go to tungle but then when I’m home and start working on my outlook calendar the meeting does not show up. This is very frusterating!! is there any way to change this so it posts the new updates to both my bb and outlook?
    Thanks for your time!
    Sandra

    • Erin says:

      Hi Sandra,

I think there’s been some confusion about what Tungle is. Tungle is a scheduling tool to help you find times to meet with others. It is not a sync tool to sync your multiple calendars to each other.

You can connect multiple calendars to Tungle, and view your full schedule within Tungle, but Tungle will not act as a bridge between your multiple calendars outside of Tungle.

I hope that clears things up.

  26. Linda says:

I could not confirm my appointment. I was told to try later.

    • Erin says:

      Hi Linda,

      Best,

  27. Priscilla says:

I have updated my availability (with two evenings), but when I’m not signed in and look at my calendar, I don’t see this update.

  28. Daniel M says:

    Hi Erin,

When I first, created my account I was offered the option of syncing Tungle with MobileMe, I declined. I currently use the Mac plug-in to sync my calendars.

Now that I have MobileMe I would like to uninstall the plug-in and sync via the MobileMe service, that way I don’t have to keep my computer running in order to for events sync.

I checked all over the site, in the settings, in the plug in and I couldn’t find the option of Syncing though MobileMe.

    Please Help,
    Thanks.

    • Erin says:

      Hi Daniel,

Go to “Calendar” and select “Sync calendar / contacts”. Click “Add new calendar & contacts sync source” and you’ll get MobileMe as one of the syncing options.

      Best,

      Erin

    Hi Erin,

We just moved to Exchange 2010. (I’m using OUtlook 2007). Tungle no longer seems to work in the Outlook. Any advice?

    Thanks so much,

    Dan

    • Erin says:

      Hi Dan,

If you uninstall the Outlook connector (not just unsync, but uninstall from your machine as well), then reinstall it and sync from Tungle, that should get it working again.

If you run into any issues, email support[at]tungle.com and we’ll look into it asap.

  30. Lauchlan says:

    Hi

I just signed up for an account. I’m not sure how to use the calendar though – I want to

    1. mark different blocks of time as AVAILABLE (eg 7-9AM or 8-10PM) and I want to
    2. mark other blocks of time as UNAVAILABLE (eg 8AM-6PM on particular days where I have whole day commitments)

    How do I do that?

    Thanks!

    Lauchlan

    • Erin says:

      Hi Lachlan,

First of all, welcome to Tungle!

What you want to do is very simple. Here’s how:

      1. Sign in & mouse over “Public profile”
      2. Select “Edit availability (daily exceptions)” from the drop down
      3. Scroll to the days you want to change
      4. To make unavailable time available, click and drag over the unavailable time. The make available time unavailable, do the same thing.
      5. Save

And that’s it! You’ll also notice in the “Public profile” drop down an option called “Edit availability (weekly template)”. In this setting, you can set your weekly available hours. Everything you set there will be duplicated across all weeks, whereas everything you set in daily exceptions will only apply to the days you edit.

I hope that helps! erin[at]tungle.com is you have any further questions.

  31. Bob Leone says:

scheduled apt. went to next page and it says to confirm my email address and then click on the link. There is no link. what do I do?

    • Erin says:

Hi Bob – You should have been sent an email to confirm. The link would have been in that email. What the email blank, or did you never receive the email?

  32. Michael says:

Is there a way to login to the Tungle.me iPhone app with OpenID (aka through Google in my case) ?
What is the point of giving this option on the website, but you still need to create an account for the mobile app… too bad.

    • Erin says:

Hi Michael – No need to create a new account/login. When you first registered, you were sent an email with a secondary login to use for things like this. If you no longer have that email, don’t worry – simply reset your password using the “Forgot password” link. You can then use that password to login on the iPhone.

  33. Chris says:

I cannot link more than one email account for some reason. Why?

    • Erin says:

Hi Chris – You should be able to add others. Mouse over your name at the top-right and select “Settings”. Scroll down to where it says “Manage your Emails” and add your additional emails here. Does this work, or is this where you were having trouble? If it isn’t working for you, please email support[at]tungle.com and we’ll look into it asap.

  34. Kevin Webster says:

can’t figure out how to view my calendar and a shared calendar at the same time

    • Erin says:

      Hi Kevin,

There’s a “Show contacts” tab on the left of your calendar (when you’re signed into Tungle). Expand that and select “Sharing”. You’ll see a list of the people you share with. Select the one you want to view, and you’ll get an overlay of their schedule on your.

If you’re still having trouble, or have more questions, feel free to reach out to me directly: erin[at]tungle.com
